These are the place-mats I made. My son Justin said he wanted them for his family, so yesterday I gave them to him. I made four, and I got the pattern from Club Sew at the Sewing Center last month. The checkerboard top is not as hard as you'd think. Just four rows of light/dark fabric and cut into strips then I did a "quilt as you go" technique. Really fun.
