Birthday Blog Candy

July is my birthday month and I'll be giving out blog candy for each week starting tonight.
Just answer my question for this week in the comments section and leave your email inside the comment section. I'll use Random.com to pick a winner.
Today's question: Why would you make a card instead of buying one?
Thanks for playing,

For me, I'd rather make my own card, because the one that receives it always seems to be so thrilled that I took the time to make a card just for them.
Happy Birthday Sarah!!

Because it's a great way to give something personal and special, when a gift is going overboard, or out of the budget... or just to add to a store bought gift, to make it more special :)

Happy Birthday!

I love the personal touch that a handmade card gives.

Happy birthday month! I just celebrated getting 'older' a few days ago myself!
Why a handmade card? What better way to share a piece of your heart? Handmade says "I care" like nothing else does!

Simple. If I care enough to send a card, I care enough to make it personal and special.

I would rather make a card than buy one because making one comes from the heart. It is a special one of a kind card created for that person who is getting it. If you get a store bought card from me you know I'm not very happy with you!!!! LOL

That's easy! I would rather make a card because the person who receives it knows it was made just for them!

A friend of mine mentioned that he will keep the card I made for him this year. AND he said it was the best birthday present he received (even though there was no money inside! lol)

Happy Birthday, Sarah.

Because a homemade card shows that you care enough about the person to design and create a unique work of the heart just for them.

The pride and joy of creating and sharing -- there is no better feeling. And have you ever compared what you get when you buy a 99-cent card vs. making one for the same or less price?? No comparison. I'm a July baby too Sara -- Happy Birthday to us both!!!

It's so much more fun to make your own card and make it special for the person you are creating it for.

I would make a handmade card instead of buying a store card to show the person just how much I care about them. I want them to feel special and that I put my heart into the special card for them.

Happy Birthday Sarah!

Making cards is a way for me to show how much I care about the person receiving it. I hope they realize that, however, even if they don't, it is my passion. A small way for me to share my creativity. Great question!

Because it is heartfelt and because of the joy, smiles and awhhhhhs it brings.

I would rather make a card because I have all this stuff and why not use it?

First of all, I enjoy making my cards. And everyone seems to enjoy receiving a card that I've taken the time and trouble (not to mention the expense!) of making. It just seems more personal, I think.

I make a card rather than buy to justify my stamp purchases to my husband. LOL Also to see their face when you have taken the time to make a card just for them.

Happy anniversary of your 21st birthday!!

I love to make all my cards because it means so much more to the person that is receiving the card. They seem to cherish them and it makes me feel special.

A homemade card is more special than a store bought card. More personal, it shows you cared enough to give the best and personalize just for them.

I would rather make a card for someone because making it shows the person that you cared enough to spend time to make them some thing special for them. A handmade card also adds a personal touch to the gift that you are giving to the person.

I like to take the time to make something special for someone, something to fit their personality. It's like giving a part of you to someone.

First of all, Happy Birthday Sarah! Hope you have a wonderful day!
For me, I love making my own card because I know that person more than Hallmark,Wal-mart,etc. or anywhere else does. Secondly, store-bought cards are getting more costly and not near as pretty! Thirdly, I think the recipient knows I cared enough to take the time to do it myself. Anyone can go and buy a card but not everyone will sit down and take the time to do it themselves! So, that person will know they are special!

Personal Satisfaction! Plus the fact that I can really never find what I really want in a store card, and then when I do the price is just not worth it. I find that when I give a hand made card my friends tend to hang on to it rather than just throw it away. Two gifts in one!

I stopped buying cards when I started stamping. I could stand in a store for an hour trying to find the 'perfect' card - and never could. Now I can make the 'perfect' card - and whoever receives it will hopefully appreciate the time and effort!
